Squats

buttI won’t lie.  I have a big butt.

That’s right, even at my thinnest, it sticks out back there forcing me to buy biggest pants and larger undies.  I have a love hate relationship with my butt.  Sometimes, it looks amazing.  Sometimes, I’ve frustrated because it stops me wearing some styles that I really love.  But in the past, I’ve never really done anything about it.

With my ‘I want to wear short shorts’ post a little while ago where I talked about my goal of having amazing legs, I decided to include my behind.  I got to the gym, I work out, and then I to squats.

O.M.G.  Squats hurt for days.  I mean, day!!!  I actually found them not ridiculously hard while I was doing them . I mean yes, I sweat, and I grunted, and I couldn’t make it down the stairs because my legs were so shaky afterwards.  But I did not expect the pain.  It hurts to stand, and sit, and walk, and lie down.  It just…hurts!!  Did I overdue it?

I’ve always been one of those ‘work out until you’re done’ kind of people.  I like to barely be able to stand when I’m done.  But this is crazy.  I’m either super weak all up the back side, groin and quads, or I’m doing something seriously wrong.  So I did what anyone in my position would do.  I googled squats.

Here are the guidelines.  Knees should know go over toes.  Chest up, push through your heals, and don’t go too fast.  Feet can start hip width apart, but there are all different versions that make you move your feet around.  And the pain?  The main consensus is to suck it up and keep going 😦

I guess I’m going to need to learn to love the pain.
