SpinningOkay, so if you follow me on twitter you may know a few things about me.  One is that my health is important to me.  Another is that I’m not afraid to try new things.  So this time, for the first time ever, I tried….

It sucked.

Here’s the thing.  I’m not completely out of shape.  I can get going on some of the other cardio equipment in the gym and get a good sweat session in.  But spinning… I felt dizzy, and sick, and half way through my calf cramped up like crazy and I had to sit down.  It was frustrating, and I didn’t like it at all.

But there were some good things about it, once I managed to get over how much I hated it.

1.) I sweat like a (insert animal or curse word)

2.) My legs were thoroughly worked out afterwards

3.) The instructor was really good at keeping us going when we really wanted to quit.

Afterwards I was famished.  I mean, starving.  There were so many things that left me knowing I had had a good workout.  My legs shook, my skin glistened (or dripped, whatever), and I had that overall ‘my lungs are clear’ sort of feeling like after you go for an epic run.  So despite the agony of actually going through it, I’m grudgingly going to say it’s probably worth it.  I’m going to go to another session before I write it off entirely.  The first time is never the best 🙂
